Really cool video! One thing that I wanted to point out is how you explained melody using ABAC as an example of how to structure it could be confusing down the line for new composers. From my understanding, using A, B etc is usually used to categorize sections of a song, and not parts of a melody, so an A section is an 8 bar Melody that has your main melody, the B section is a different but complementary 8 bar melody etc! While your explanation is great for a beginner, it could lead to confusion down the line if they want to learn more from other composers! What you ended up describing is usually called the Period form, Ryan Leach has a fantastic video explaining melodies using the period form! :)

I thought i was coming here for a “how to build your music to fit a game setting” so more on the technical side, like how to make a song knowing its going to be looped in some kind of way and how to adapt to many different types of implementation, but that was insightful as well. (For those who needed such advice) I stayed for the great editing and for how this approach makes me remember how simple music can be at its core! Lovely video! It's really difficult to make a job out of this and it's frustrating how many times you could find yourself desperately searching in all social platforms without success...

With the A/B comparison i have allot of disagreements. Mainly because both sounded offputting and not very memorable. I would put B on par with allot of with allot of megaman music. I to this day hum the whole MM2 soundtrack like beavis and butthead covering Earacha my eye. I haven’t played the game in 20 years. While i logged my time on mega man legends 1/2 onand i couldn’t tell you how a single theme goes. I’m sure it was more on par with comparison A. All my favorite zelda and FF tracks are more on par with B as well. That comparison was almost like saying don’t use arpeggios because the other instruments cant take over a melody. Or rhythm can’t be the driving force of a track. The industry takes “keep it stupid, stupid” to a whole new level. Some of us thrive on well rooted complex intricacies. I’m not saying theres no room for A either. It’s give and take. No bad blood, i just despise this thought process….. yeah but if your goal is just make more product. Go with A. 😂
